Frequently Asked Questions
How do I set up medication reminders?
Go to the Medicines tab, tap "Add Medicine," enter your medication details including name, dosage, and schedule. DoseMate will automatically send you notifications at the scheduled times.
Why am I not receiving notifications?
Make sure notifications are enabled in the app settings AND in your phone's system settings. On Android, also check that battery optimization is disabled for DoseMate (Settings → Apps → DoseMate → Battery → Unrestricted).
Can I manage medications for family members?
Yes! DoseMate supports multiple profiles. Go to Settings → Manage Profiles to add profiles for each family member. Each profile has its own medications and health logs.
How do I snooze a reminder?
When you receive a notification, you can tap "Snooze" to be reminded again later. You can also set your default snooze duration in Settings → Default Snooze Time.
Is my health data private?
Absolutely! DoseMate stores all your data locally on your device. We do not upload, collect, or have access to your health information. Your data stays with you.
What happens if I uninstall the app?
Since all data is stored locally on your device, uninstalling the app will delete all your medication records and health logs. Make sure to note down important information before uninstalling.
How does step tracking work?
DoseMate uses your phone's built-in pedometer sensor. On Android, you need to grant the "Activity Recognition" permission. Step counts may vary slightly between devices.
Can I use DoseMate without internet?
Yes! DoseMate is designed to work completely offline. All features including reminders, health logging, and medication tracking work without an internet connection.
💡 Pro Tip
For the most reliable notifications, make sure to disable battery optimization for DoseMate and keep the app installed (not just in the background). This ensures you never miss an important reminder!
Troubleshooting
Notifications not working after phone restart
DoseMate should restore reminders automatically after a restart. If you face any issues, simply open the app once to re-register all your scheduled notifications with the system.
Step count showing zero
1) Make sure you've granted the Activity Recognition permission. 2) Some devices don't have a step counter sensor. 3) Try pulling down to refresh on the Steps screen.
App running slowly
If you have many old medications or logs, try archiving or deleting ones you no longer need. This keeps the app running smoothly.
